How did we get started?

Having three kids is a true blessing! Both of our families are full of kids and one family should be adding another child to our group very soon. We are thankful for our families and the love that they share. We appreciate their support as we have this adventure. They have asked where our decision came from and really we believe that it was placed on our hearts, but how? So here's how we began...We received a news bulletin from the adoption agency that helped us with our son. As we were sitting in our kitchen, our common meeting place, our oldest was looking through the information and asked why we don't adopt again? So it was said to talk to her dad:) We decided after our oldest asked why we are not adopting again that we needed to pray and proceed. We began talking and praying and then an email was sent about waiting children. And so we began. Now that we are preparing for a new year, the kids are sharing what they are looking forward to and here are their answers: our son - a boy (and that is his focus. when he is asked about having brothers or sisters, he strongly states that he needs a brother or more than one brother.) oldest daughter - family time and to see what happens with the adoption (she takes on a lot of responsibility and she is a worrier. being that she is older, she is excited and nervous about our new adventure) our second oldest daughter (we don't like to use 'middle child' nor does she like that phrase)- excited for more family members and to get to know her siblings (she is our curious one) We are excited for what 2013 brings to our lives. We trust that God will be there with us through this adventure wherever it takes us. Praying for guidance from Him and calmness in our hearts - Home study is almost done- YEA! Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; acknowledge Him in all your ways and he will make your paths straight. This picture shows the children on one side of our family with grandparents. Blessed!

Here we go again...

As we close out the 2012 year, we look at the many blessings that we have had. Our Christmas letter shared the kids' favorites as well as our (the parents') favorites. We are a family of five currently. We are in the process of adoption...again. We have three children, two daughters and a son. We enjoy being together as a family and we are blessed to have supportive families, to be surrounded by wonderful friends and to live in a nice community. When we started our first adoption in 2006, a blog was written to share in our adoption adventure. We are at it again so another blog has arrived. We will let you know how each of us are feeling, the process of our adventure and ask for prayers. We believe that we are being called to adopt again. We also understand that God has a plan. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We know that life here will not be easy and adopting is not an easy process so we will depend on His guidance through this adventure. We hope that you enjoy this blog and may 2013 bring adventures in your life.
